A Historic Day for MacKillop College!

Today (11/9/26) marked a significant milestone in the history of MacKillop College as we officially turned the first sod at the site of our future Wyndham Vale Primary & Secondary School Campus.

Joined by Federal Member for Lalor, Joanne Ryan MP, State Member for Werribee, John Lister MP, Professor Elizabeth Labone VCEA CEO, MacKillop College Vice Principal Nicole Allan, Parish Priest Fr Albert Yogarajah, the Catholic Development Fund (CDF) CEO John McClusky, representatives from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), our project architects and builders, and members of the MacKillop College community, we celebrated the commencement of a project that will shape the future of Catholic education in Melbourne's rapidly growing western corridor.

The official opening ceremony was blessed by Fr Albert Yogarajah, Parish Priest of St Andrew's Parish, and featured reflections on the importance of creating new opportunities for local families through high-quality Catholic education. We were especially proud to have one of our 2026 College Captains, Nigisti, represent the voices and aspirations of future students who will one day call this campus home.

This transformative project has been made possible through the support of both the Australian and Victorian Governments and demonstrates a shared commitment to investing in the educational needs of the Wyndham community.

The new campus provides contemporary learning environments for primary and secondary students, including general learning areas, specialist STEAM, art and digital technology spaces, wellbeing and breakout areas, and dedicated staff and administration facilities.

While today involved the turning of a single sod, it represented something much greater: the beginning of a new chapter for MacKillop College. The Wyndham Vale Campus will provide a seamless Catholic education pathway from primary through to secondary schooling, creating opportunities for generations of students and families to learn, grow and flourish.

We look forward to sharing the journey as this vision becomes a reality.
